Are you unsure which cable you need to connect your Beolab speakers?
You're not alone. Bang & Olufsen uses different connections, which sometimes makes choosing the right cable difficult.
On this page we will help you make the right choice step by step, so that your Beolab speakers work immediately without any problems.
Step 1:
Which connection do you use?
There are 3 connection types: (2 via powerlink, 1 via tulip)
RCA (tulip) Most often used
Works the simplest and suitable for Beolab1/5/3000/4000/4500/5000/6000/8000/penta
Simple solution, often plug and play
Powerlink (original B&O connection cable)
Best integration
Including on/off signal (trigger), ground and data
RJ45 / DIN7 connections
For specific B&O setups, among others:
3/9/11/4002/6002/8002
Step 2: Choose based on your speakers
Take your RCA that fits: Beolab1/5/3000/4000/4500/5000/6000/8000/penta
If you want to connect the Beolab 2/7 series/10/11, this can only be done with a trigger signal
Modern models (newer systems including 3/9/11/4002/6002/8002) with RJ45-Line
Beolab 28, 50, 90 → special connection required
Important to know
Not every Beolab works directly with a standard cable
Some speakers require a trigger signal
Without this they remain off or make no sound
Always use a cable that is suitable for your model
Common mistakes
Wrong cable → no sound
No trigger → speakers do not work
