RCA to Powerlink cable – Connect Beolab without Tulip

Connecting B&O Line Input.
Would you like to connect your Bang & Olufsen Beolab speakers to a LINE output of an amplifier, TV, or other audio device?
With the right cable, this is easy to achieve, allowing you to enjoy stable and high-quality sound reproduction, even without original B&O equipment.
B&O Beolab speakers can be connected in 2 ways.
Via DIN8 Powerlink
or via the RCA/tulip cable (line-Input)


The image on the right shows the modern version, connecting via Powerlink with DIN8 connections.
The image on the left concerns the somewhat older connections; this has DIN8 and 1 tulip connection. Incidentally, you CANNOT use both connections.
Among others, the Beolab1/5/3000/4000/4500/5000/6000/8000 & Lab Penta have RCA & DIN8 (image on the left)
Newer loudspeakers such as: Beolab 3/9/11/4002/6002/8002 have a built-in LINE that works with a DIN8 connection (image on the right).

If a tulip cable or a LINE cable is connected, the switch on both loudspeakers will be set to LINE (with Powerlink) connection  is this on R or L)
The image on the right can also be connected with a cable that has RCA/tulip to DIN8, called line-Cable.(beolab3/9/4002/6002/8002)

Older or other types of Beolab do NOT work with this cable; use RCA/tulip cables for those.


Another example:


Beolab8000/1/5/3000/4000/5000/6000/lab penta have an RCA connection,
See the round red indication in the image.

These speakers can therefore be connected with a tulip or minijack to tulip cable from Sonos/receiver/WiiM Mini or the like to Beolab types as above.


Connecting Beolab via LINE? Here's how it works.

Beolab such as 3/9/11/4002/6002/8002 do not have an RCA connection.
Then a DIN plug can be connected on this side and an RCA or tulip on the other side.

A so-called LINE cable


Please note:

Not all Beolab speakers are suitable for connection via a LINE (RCA) signal.
The following models do not feature an RCA connection and require a trigger signal to function:
Beolab 7-1, 7-2, 7-4, 7-6, Lab 2, Lab 10, and Lab 11

These speakers cannot be connected directly via LINE.
A special cable with a trigger function is required for this.

Beolab 3/9/4002/6002/8002 are new BeoLab speakers without the RCA (LINE) connection, this RCA connector connection has been changed to a connection to the existing DIN8 connection from B&O.
